Mark Finn
I'm a Melbourne-based documentary photographer interested in the interplay between people and their environment. In a world that is increasingly dominated by moving images, I'm fascinated by the power of a single frame to tell a story.
In terms of influences I'm more Trent Parke than Bruce Gilden; preferring to explore the story told by light and shadow rather than focus on individual actors in the street. I'm also keenly aware of the ethical tightrope street photographers must walk: to document the flow of everyday life while remaining respectful to those whose intersecting lives make up that flow.
